Titanium vs Surgical Steel – Lip Piercing?
Hi,
I am buying a new lip ring, but I am bit confused about materials.. Which is better to use for a lip ring – Titanium or surgical steel? Can anyone list good/bad points please? I usually get steel (i think) from my local piercer but want to get a few online because there is more choice. Ive never had a problem with infection or swelling and I have had my piercings for a while. Titanium looks nicer, but more expensive – should I get that? What are the differences?
Any help would be much appreciated, cheers.
If you have never had any problems with surgical steel, then you would be fine to get that.
Titanium is better for people who have a history of being allergic to metals, as surgical steel still contains some nickel, which some people are allergic to.
Personally, I cant wear surgical steel, only titanium.
